Professional Range

Hand-matched, straightened, and finished bamboo handles, with over 30 processes, and secret ingredients, working together to make these sticks a truly exceptional sticks.  All heads are covered in custom-made Timpani felt, and with an option to request a cork centre instead of wood, to help players using calf skin, fibreglass bowl or hand tuned Timpani, where the lighter weight is often preferable.

A wide variety of size and weight of felted heads is available, ensuring that you can find exactly what you need.

    Covered in a double layer of hard baize felt, this stick is still very hard, but makes less contact-noise than the BP1, with slightly less attack.  It is centred on a wood or cork wheel, and measures 28.5mm across. Lightweight bamboo handles complete this stick. Excellent for much of the brass band repertoire.

    A solid wooden ball head, with no felt, for aggressive playing.  Ideally suited to Baroque or early Classical pieces, and matched with a lightweight handle to for better balance.  For a similarly hard stick with less contact noise, see the BP2/BP2C, B6 and B7. Only 25mm across.

    A very precise, light stick, with a hard head comprising a single layer of soft felt around a wood or cork wheel.  30mm across, with a lightweight bamboo handle for great ease of movement. Ideal for Baroque and early Classical music.

    Triple-layered felt, with a firm, warm tone.  A generous 44mm across, and formed around a small wood or cork wheel, for head that’s still relatively light. Bamboo handles give a natural springiness and warm feel to these sticks, finished with the secret mixture of polishing ingredients which make Seán’s timpani sticks top-of-the-range. Ideal for rolls and legato playing, especially on large drums.

    A warm-toned stick, with a triple-layered felt head, and formed around a small wood or cork wheel, this stick gives a warm tone, heavier than P3/P3C sticks. Well-balanced bamboo handles, finished to perfection, make these sticks a pleasure to use. 41mm across. Ideal for seamless rolls and legato playing

    Formed around a large wood or cork wheel, these sticks have a distinct warm tone.  They have a triple-layered felt head, and are fairly firm. Their bamboo handles are polished and balanced to perfection, making them a natural extension of your arm.  Slightly firmer than P7/P7C. 41mm across.  Ideal for a warm orchestral tone.

    43mm across, with a large wood or cork wheel at the centre, this has two soft felt layers, loosely packed, so more dense than the P9/P9C sticks.  Still a soft tone, complemented by the natural springiness of the hand-finished bamboo handles.   Ideal for quiet legato playing where a warm tone without contact noise is needed

    Similar in make-up to the P6/P6C sticks, these are softer, and 44mm across.  With the same three layers of soft felt and large wood or cork wheel centres, the difference is subtle. The bamboo handles remain the same high quality found across the whole Professional Range. Ideal for legato playing and rolls, especially on larger drums.

    A large head, with a double layer of loose felt, and a large wood or cork wheel at the centre. This gives a lightweight, soft head, with the same excellent bamboo handles that feature throughout the Professional Range. Softer than the P8/P8C.  45mm across. Ideal for quiet playing across the whole range of notes available.

    A large, very soft, head with two layers of soft felt, and a wood or cork ball at its centre.  44mm across, this head gives a warm tone without being too large. Softer than the P10/P10C sticks.  Bamboo handles finish off this pair of sticks, polished to the usual standard of our Professional Range. Ideal for smooth rolls on larger drums.

    Our smallest stick with a solid wood or cork ball at the centre, measuring  38mm.  This has a double layer of soft felt, fairly loosely packed, so between the very soft head of the P11/P11C and the tightly packed head of the P12/P12C. Our usual hand-finished bamboo handles make this a high-quality stick. Ideal for a warm legato tone, with more weight in the core than models P1 – P9.

    A large head, with three layers of tightly-packed soft felt, with a wood or cork ball centre.  This stick will create a lovely warm tone, being so dense, and measures a generous 47mm.  The usual high-quality bamboo handles that are the hallmark of the Professional Range complete this excellent stick. Ideal for musical situations where a great deal of tone and volume are needed, without aggressive  attack.

    Created around a very large wood wheel, this stick has a double layer of soft felt, and is quite hard.  The head is firm, and heavy, and is particularly good for large timpani.  The handles matched with these larger heads are correspondingly more robust, to reinforce the depth of sound produced. 41mm across. Ideal for the big tone demanded by composers such as Mahler.

    One of the largest heads in our Professional range, at 48mm. Crafted from three layers of soft felt, on a solid wood or cork ball head, this is a very large head, heavy and quite soft.   Ideal for a big sound on larger drums.

    A large, heavy stick, quite firm, with a very large wood or cork centre, this stick has a double layer of soft felt and measures 44mm.  Excellent for large timpani, and with a thicker bamboo handle, to balance the weight of the head. Ideal for where a big tone is needed, e.g. much of the work of Mahler.
